Sustainable Development AdviceScott Hughes Design are experienced in negotiating appropriate strategies and compiling statements and reports to help to satisfy sustainability requirements imposed by planners, funders and other key stakeholders. We have been involved in various successful funding applications, equating to multiple millions of pounds won on behalf of our clients towards sustainable developments in and around the UK. Our experience ranges from office and industrial parks, to town centre amenities and national sporting facilities. Above and beyond BREEAM and the Code for Sustainable Homes, there are a series of other assessment methodologies including Regional Development Agency (e.g. NWDA, Yorkshire Forward) Checklists, Local Authority Sustainable Building Policies, L.S.C. requirements etc., that designs must satisfy in order that a project can progress with full permissions and funding. We are capable of providing coordination services and consultancy towards ensuring that these issues are accounted for in designs and costs, and that contractors and design teams are aware of their responsibilities.
